IRC India, IIT Bombay

"Battle is the most magnificent competition in which a human being can indulge. It brings out all that is best; it removes all that is base."
- George S. Patton

Born with a motto to encourage young minds into robotics and increasing the level of student interaction at the international stage, Techfest brings International Robotics Challenge to your home with country legs at Bangladesh, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, India, Nepal,Pakistan, Russia, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.

From the design of a system of robots synchronised to perform according to the rules of the game played on a high precision technical contest arena to the ecstasy of beating the competitors at a technical contest of international level; expertising manual handling skills as well as performing specific tasks autonomously, IRC has it all.

Top two teams from each country will qualify and would be invited to India to compete in International Robotics Challenge Grand Finale which would be held at Techfest 2014, India.

Task:
  • There will be two bots, a manual and an autonomous. They need to coordinate with each other to complete the task

  • The manual bot will throw a ball into a vertical ring

  • The autonomous bot has to solve the grid by following the white lines while avoiding the nodes and must carry the key block from a location on the grid to the transfer zone

  • The manual bot will transfer the block from one zone to other and the autonomous bot will carry this block to fill the pit

  • The autonomous bot should travel on the inclined plane and cross the platform

  • The autonomous bot will now climb down the wedge and will move forward to ring the metallic plate

  • Maximum time given for completing the task is 6 minutes
Venue:
Competition Date: 3rd-5th January, 2014
Competition Venue: India Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai
Address: India Institute of Technology Bombay, Adi Shankaracharya Marg, Powai, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400076

AARUUSH '13 SRM UNIVERSITY

AARUUSH is a National Level techno-cultural fest of SRM University in Chennai.Various fields of Engineering are used and exploited here as various events make aspiring engineers work.

AARUUSH '13 Towards Infinity
Theme: Reinforcing Basics,Transcending Boundries

"Seek and you shall find, when you feel everything is lost, innovation will guide you through".
Taking cue from these words by our former President, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, SRM University’s National Level Techno-Management Fest, Aaruush quenches our thirst for innovative prerogatives.
Since its inception in the year 2007, this brainchild of four final year students has sought to provide a platform where students can showcase a fine blend of imagination and technical dexterity. Aaruush continues to delve into unexplored avenues, leading us to do things in ways that are truly unique and exciting.
With each passing year, Aaruush has evolved into a phenomenon that stands true to its mantra of “invent, innovate and inspire.” Themes have proven to be a unique amalgamation of technology, management and societal issues. Along with associating itself with various causes, Aaruush has pioneered a change not only in ideas, but also in mindset, making innovation an intrinsic part of life.
